Weaver of Schreiber are pleased to announce the engagement of their youngest daughter Billie Esther to Mr. Robert Thomas Bagdon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bagdon of White River, Ontario. The wedding will take place June ZIs% at 4:30 p.m. in St. Andrew's United Church, Schreiber. An Open Reception will be held in the Schreiber High School Gym grom 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. SCHREIBER PARKS AND RECREATION NEWS Registrations for all summer programmes are now available at the Recreation Office. There will be one Registration Day, Monday, June 23rd Registrations must be handed in to the Recrea- tion Office before or on June 23rd. SUMMER '75 PROGRAMMES: SWIMMING: Lessons will be held at White Sand Lake again for 7 weeks and bus service will be provided. Arrangements are being made for a disabled programme. OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE & SURVIVAL: Thanks to a Programme I3 grant, we will be offering a wild- erness programme again this summer. Students from I2-I5 years will participate in outdoor excursions and develop outdoor skills. TENNIS: In order to play on the Tennis Courts, a tennis membership of $2.00 is required. Ten- nis memberships are available at the Recreation Office on June 23rd. The courts will be sched- ~ uled this year which makes for better playing time for everyone. LACROSSE: Lessons and games will begin the 2nd week in July in the Arena. Membership of $2.00 is required for the rest of the summer. Lacro- sse equipment will be available to use. EVENING GYM PROGRAM: This is a new sports pro- gram for young adults I6 to 25. The program pertains to team involvement consisting of various activities such as mixed volleyball, basketball, badminton, ping pong, etc. The program runs for 8 weeks, 2 evenings a week 8 (7-10). RECREATION '75 PROGRAMME: Thanks to an Oppor- tunities for Youth Grant a programme will be x offered involving arts and crafts, swimming, < adventure hikes and indoor sports for child- ren 4 to I4 years. The programme will commen- ce on June 25th. JUNIOR THEATRE & READING ACTIVITES: Thanks to an OFY grant a programme in creative drama, reading and puppetry will be offered for children 5 to II years. The progamme starts June 30th. BASKETBALL CLUB: This programme is for males and females, age I2 to I6. Starting date is July 7th. Students will be instructed in play -ing techniques, rules and strategy in order to play games during the summer. : NOTE: Schreiber Parks and Recreation would like someone in the community to design a 'crest for our department. A reward will be given to the winner. Entries must be handed in by July 2nd, I975. LEGION AUXILIARY SISTER MEMBERS The thallenge, issued in 1963, by the Schreiber Ladies Auxiliary to the Canadian 3 Legion, Branch I09, to equal their sister mem- bership, has never been taken up. 1 The local auxiliary had then, and still has, four sisters as members - the McCouan Ygirls? - Louella, Mrs. Archie McColeman, Lillian, Mrs. Frank MacDonald, Earline, Mrs. Ivan John- son and Ruth, Mrs. Leonard Hiller.
