PLAN TEA & BAKE SALE The Schreiber United Church Women, at their regular April meeting, planned a dessert tea and- bake sale for-April 25th, 2:30-to 4 p.m. in the Church Hall. Mrs. Beth Macadam and Mrs. Winnie Clemens, the conveners, are asking all women in the congregation, as well as U.C.W. members to donate to the bake table. Mrs. Macadam, who presided for the meeting, followed the Easter theme for the devotional period. Mrs. Margaret Spillane's financial report was adopted as read, and she also reported sending flowers to Mrs. John Morris and Mrs. Nelson Smith, and many cards for other occas- ions. The subscription to the Mandate magazine was renewed. Correspondence included a thank you note from W.T. (Nim) Wallace and an appreciative letter from the Department of Stewardship and Missions in Canada for the generous contribu- tion gathered from the Least Coin collection at each meeting. Rev. Ralph Magee, of the Bible Society, North Bay, confirmed May 7th as the date he will meet with the U.C.W. = The Anglican Chur- ch Women invited to attend the meeting. Hos- tesses for this event will be Mesdames Margar- et Smith, Marlene Doig, Helen Wallace, Winnie Clemens and Miss Edith Clemens. Mrs. Norma Fummerton gave the offical Board report - repairs planned for the Church and arrangements made for ministerial service during April and May proposed. The annual bazaar was dis- W.I. A donation was made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The minutes of the past meeting and treas- urer's report were adopted as read by Winnie Clemens and Mrs. Eirene Harness. Mrs. Winnie Campbell reported sending cards and flowers to sick members and birthday cards to residents in Birchwood Terrace. A letter from the Kinettes, concerning the New Year baby party, and the matter of Life Memberships, were placed on file for further consideration. Information was received regarding the ann- ual district meeting planned for Wednesday, May I4th in Kakabeka Falls - Mrs. Todesco and Mrs. Clemens named as delegates. Three res- olutions, to be placed at this meeting were discussed and approved by members.
