LOCAL MEN WALK 18 MILES TO RAISE FUNDS Denny Neylon, retired, and Russell Macadam, local post master, took off on March IIth to walk to Dusty (Wesley) Miller's camp at McCuaig Lake, nine miles north of Schreiber -- an IS mile hike, in all. Their venture was to raise funds for the McCausland Hospital Building Fund and the list of sponsors just 'growed like Topsy', with everyone wanting a part in the effort. Mr. Macadam sacrificed a day of his annual holidays to secure the day off from his office. | Keith Scott loaned them a walkie-talkie, to ensure they would be in touch with friends in Schreiber, and their new bulletins, issued as they walked, greatly amused those with radio sets, who passed them as they heard them, to others in town. Denny and Russell are no novices in walking - Denny going on a long walk every day, and almost every weekend he and Russell take off on a ten mile hike to some point in the area. They had been talking about this walk for some time, but it took Russell's wife to get a date set, when a few days ago, she exclaim- ed -- I'll pay you $I.00 for every mile you walk!
