All children are invited to attend TUCK SHOP REQUESTS VOLUNTEER WORKERS The Auxiliary to the McCausland Hospital held a meeting in St. Martin school library at 8 p.m. with twenty members present, and Gladys Hamilton, vice president presiding. Marj Stephen reported from the membership committee that the membership drive was going well and expected to wind it up within the month. Memorial cards are available from Marj Stephen. Marg Gander reported from the Tuck Shop that wool mitts of all sizes are needed, and that she would supply the wool if anyone would knit. A thank you letter was sent to Linda Joiner for all the knitting done for the shop. Also there is an urgent need for VOLUNTEER WORKERS IN THE TUCK SHOP. Bonnie Dye of the Volunteer Services Commit- tee brought in mending to be done. The afghan netted a good profit and Dominion Store slips and rags are needed. Under new business Gerbachen Sidhu and Beth Macadam volunteered to serve on the nominating committee. It was moved by Marj Stephen and seconded by Bonnie Dye that we present a $I000. cheque to the Hospital Board immediately and strive for another donation at the annual meet- ing in April. Joan Nugent will present this cheque at her earliest convenience. The next meeting will be held December I6th at 8 p.m. in the Libary of Schreiber High School. " AUXILIARY MEETS AT BIRCHWOOD TERRACE The Evening Group of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church held their December meeting at Birchwood Terrace on Monday, Decem--- ber 2nd. Instead of buying individual gifts among the membership, a collection was taken up and the proceeds went toward buying a Canary and cage for the residents of Birchwood Terrace to enjoy in their sitting room. Members of the staff at the Home report. that the canary is bringing much joy to the residents. Pres- ident Cora Ropchan presented the gift to the residents on behalf of the Auxiliary. A sing song followed the presentation of the canary. The sing song was led by Pam Jones with Ellen Hodgkiss at the piano, play- ing old familiar melodies and Christmas car- ols. Stella Brown-was excellent in the role of Santa Claus, distributing small gifts of fruit and candy to each resident. Cookies donated by the members and tea and coffee served by the staff of Birchwood Terrace completed a very pleasant evening. A short business meeting following the fes- tivities.
