PAGE 16 CHIMO CLUB ELECTS NEW OFFICERS The Schreiber Chimo Club (senior citizens) elected their new slate of officers, by accla- mation, at their November 15th meeting. The new slate is: Géorge Birch, president; Mrs. Mary Chadwell, first vice-president; Cyril Spa- rkes, second vice-president; W.T. Wallace, tre- asurer; and Mrs. Beatrice McCuaig, secretary. Many amused comments were directed at Mrs. Ida Krause, for the many hats she wears - soc- ial convener, chief fund raiser, party organi- zer, being but a few, and a hearty round of 'ap- plause expressed the members appreciation for her interest and efforts. The Christmas party was set for December 13tH with an exchange of gifts, top cost set at $2., and the popular potluck lunch. A visit by the members to Birchwood Terrace was planned for December 16th, the crowd to meet at the Club at 2:00 p.m. It was decided that for some future outings, subject to the Home's approval, some of those residing in Bir- chwood Terrace, will be invited to go along with the Chimo Club. A~Penny Auction was held following the meet- ing, to augment the social fund. SCHREIBER TOWN TOPICS Older Schreiber people were interested in a recent article in a Toronto paper honoring TERRACE BAY NEWS NOVEMBER 28, 1974 WENDY MARTIN WINS SEASON TICKET Mrs. Wendy Martin was the winner of the se ason ticket to all the local games of Schrei- ber's popular North Stars hockey team. The ticket was offered in a draw by the Schreiber Foodmarket during their Fall Sale. Jeanne Pengelly, ending 44 years as soprano so- . loist for Timothy Eaton Memorial Church. Mrs. Pengelly spent her early childhood in Schreiber, her father being manager of the 'Bank of Montreal, and himself a sing- er. Jean began her career in Schreiber as the star of many sc- ool concerts, Sunday School pro- grams and other similar events.
