PAGE 24 TERRACE BAY NEWS NOVEMBER 20, I974 Brownie News - continued that each of them could take one home. (As a surprise for Mom & Dad). But Mrs. Aulenback decided that it must be Mom who orders one and wouldn't allow any Brownie to have one that night, so, very reluctantly each little puppy was returned to it's mothers box. The girls who are working on their Petkeep- er badge were eager to learn any small inter- esting detail about the litter. On Wednesday, November I4th, four Tweenies were enrolled into Brownies. Carol-Lynn Borsa, Janet Chappel, Mariann Kostiuk and Laurie Stachiw. The evening opened with all the Tweenies of the Pack performing the Brownie Story while Brown Owl Saranpaa read it out loud, much to the enjoyment of the mothers present. - Singing, games and action songs, followed and the mothers joined in. At the end of the evening, Mesdames Borsa, Chappel, Kostiuk and Stachiw were served tea and toast by hostesses Lisa Helmink, Kathy Ramsay, Jane Colby-Hara, and Penny Luke. They did an excellent job and were thrilled about being able to serve the mothers. It makes the leaders work more interesting when parents visit the Pack. Tawny Owl Jones thanked them for attending. Sid] LIQUOR LICENCE VOTE After lengthy correspondence with the Lig- uor Licence Board of Ontario the municipality has to vote on whether or not Terrace Bay will have liquor. : There are two (2) ballots which will be cast on December 2nd in the municipal elect- ion for liquor. One ballot will state "Are you in favour of the sale of liquor under a dining lounge licence for consumption on lic- enced premises with food available', while the other states "Are you in favour of the sale of liquor under a lounge licence for consumption on licensed premises". In order for these two votes to be accept- ed 3/5 (60%) of those casting ballots must be in favour. By verbal confirmation from the lawyers of the Liquor Licence Board of Ontario it was stated the existing club licences, beer and wine licenses and the operation of the Liquor Control Board outlet would not be aff- ected by a negative vote.
