Mrs. Ileene Williamson and Miss Elma Haapa, Scene Supports; the treasurer and Musician will be installed at a later date. A buffet supper preceded the meeting when the guests were the Installation team from Amethyst Lodge, Thunder Bay, Mr. Lindstrom, D.D.G.M. of District 42 and Mr. Alvin Slater, G.G. of the Grand Lodge of Ontario, IOOF. Mrs. Marion Young, D.D.P., captain of the installing team, was escorted into the Lodge Room and introduced by Mrs. Alice Farrow, while + Mrs. Mavis Slater, P.P. of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario, was escorted and introduced by Mrs. Helen Wallace. Mrs. Hamilton, for Sick and Visiting, repor- ted Mrs. Agnes Bryson, Mrs. Iris Lidkea, Mrs. Louella McColeman and Mrs. Jean Stitt are ill. The Noble Grand presented Mrs. Young with a chrome serving tray and corsage, on behalf of the Lodge. Her Past Noble Grand Jewel was presented to Mrs. Harris by Mrs. Beth Macadam. Formal congratulations were paid to the in- stalling team and the new officers. Mrs. Martha Huller presented six pair of home knit men's sox to be raffled. A social hour will follow the next meeting on November I3th when a guest speaker will be present, from the Board of Governors of McCausland Hospital, Terrace Bay. Following the meeting lunch was served and a visiting hour enjoyed. Mrs. Alma Stewart of Espanola visited old friends here last week - the guest of Mrs. Walter Murphy. Kim Krause of Oakville spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Krause. Auto An automobile is something your son manages to drive into the garage on the last drop of gas. SCHREIBER WOMEN'S INSTITUTE At their regular October meeting of the Schreiber Women's Institute, Mrs. Anne Todesco and members welcomed Reeve Harold McParland of Schreiber, guest speaker, who outlined the various civic projects which had been recently completed or were in progress at the present time. Some of these were the sewage system, medical centre, additions to the Public Libr- ary, and the arena rink as well as the Cook's Lake Dam and proposed new subdivision. A hearty vote of thanks was extended to the Reeve for his informative address. Members answered the roll call with a don- ation of canned fruit or pickles for Birch- wood Terrace Home. One new member, Mrs. J. Spillane and special guest, Mrs. H. McParland were also welcomed by the president. Current events such as increased car insur- ance and population in Canada were discussed. Motto was "In youth we learn, in age we understand". Financial report was presented by Mrs. C. Morris and card report by Mrs. W. Campbell. Mrs. W. Clemens read the minutes and corr- espondence.
