PAGE I4 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 17, 1974 DALY-BOYD VOWS EXCHANGED Giant Mums adorned the altar of St. Martins Church, Mississauga, when Valarie Joan Boyd and Robert Daly were united in marriage on Saturday, September I4th, I974 at 2:30 p.m. Valarie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Boyd Jr., Terrace Bay and Bob is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Daly, Mississ- auga. ; Reverend Father O'Leary officiated at the . double ring ceremony. Music was played by Ron Klusmeier and Chris Klusmeier was soloist. Altar boys were Peter and Mark Clement. The bride, escorted down the aisle by her father, was lovely in a floor length gown of polyester satin suede. Her gown featured a scooped neckline and empire waist accented with lace embroidered trim. The puffy sleeves with wide cuffs, buttoned at the wrist. The full length train fell from the empire waist- line. She wore a traditional family veil held by a Juliet style cap and trimmed with embroi- dered lace. She carried a bouquet of Red Roses and Stephonias. The Bride's attendants, Mrs. Claire Roen, Matron 'of honour; Bridesmaids, Paddy and Joan Daly (sisters of the groom), Melanie Boyd (sister of the Bride) and Flower Girl, Kris- tine Gavin (niece of the bride) wore gowns of blue polyester suede with a floral sheet embossed overlay styled similar to the bride's They carried nosegays of yellow daisies, white baby mums with white streamers and Baby's Breathe. The Best Man was Allan Boeckner and ushers were Doug Pape, Paul and Brian Daly (brothers of the groom). At a dinner reception held in the Holiday Inn the bride's mother received wearing a pastel mint green A-line gown, with ruffled V-neckline, cafe sleeves and wore a corsage of yellow roses. The groom's mother, also received, wearing a dusty rose gown, with V-neckline and gathered waist and she wore a pink carnation corsage. Master of Ceremonies was Gordon L. Daly and Grace was said by Tony Gvora (formerly of Terrace Bay). The Toast to the Bride and Groom was given by the bride's grandfather, Mr. Samuel Boyd Sr. with the groom responding. Donna Downs (cousin of the bride) circulat- ed the guest book. The bride's cake was centered on a table covered with blue tulle and white lace. Her cake had been designed by Nancy Boeckner. For a honeymoon to a cottage in the Hali- burton area the bride chose a linen brown two piece pant suit and floral blouse and wore an orange tea rose corsage. A rehearsal party hosted by the groom's parents was given in their home Friday even-. ing. . The bride was previously entertained at showers hosted by Mrs. Betty Downs, Downsview; Mrs. B. Moffat and Mrs. B. Daly, Mississauga; and Mrs. Debbie Helmink, Terrace Bay. A Jack and Jill party was held for Bob and Valarie hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Barry Burns,-Rockwood. Out of town guests were: Miss A.W. Daly, Miss R.V. Daly, Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Daly, Mr. and Mrs. T.V. Doran, Mr. and Mrs. P. Russel, Montreal; Mr. and Mrs. B. Daly, Kitchener; Mr. and Mrs. C.
