LETTER TO SEPARATE SCHOOL RATEPAYERS You are probably aware of changes in your educational system that have occurred in Ontario in recent years. We can expect more and other kinds of changes to continue in the future. Because of these, your Board has expressed concern in obtaining assistance to meet the needs of our children, teachers and schools in our area. Due fo our size and the |imited funds available locally to our Board, there are some problems we cannot solve ourselves. Academic supervision, professional teacher and curricular development as well as financial processes and controls are some of the matters your trustees are concerned with. To ensure our schools can keep up with the philosophy of "Equality in Educational Opportunity" for our children, your Board has agreed to undertake a study into the desirability and feasibility of forming a larger unit of Educational Administration. This study of amalgamation with the Area Boards will take place in Thunder Bay on October 5th and 6th. At that time, competent and prominent resource people will be in attendance to answer our questions. The following Boards will be meeting together: Geraldton District R.C.S.S. Board Manitouwadge District R.C.S.S. Board Nakina District R.C.S.S. Board Nipigon-Red Rock District R.C.S.S. Board Schreiber-Terrace Bay District R.C.S.S. Board Your opinions and concerns will be discussed at this major meeting. Any decision on future courses of action your Board will take will be brought fo your attention immediately after- wards.
