Fairservice was accepted with regret and in appreciation of her service at the August 27th meeting of the Lake Superior Board of Education held at Marathon. The minutes of Meeting No. 8/74 held June 20, 1974, were declared adopted. The Disbursments for the month of June, I974 totalled $312,824.99 and for the month of July $582,486.75. H.J. Boudreau, Business Administrator, pre- sented and discussed the following reports: A) The Education Dollar, I973, B) The Educa- tion Dollar, 1974 estimated, C) Tax Collections Unorganized Areas, D) Statement of Revenue. The Board accepted the recommendations for the Manitouwadge High School Rome Trip, and approved the undertaking, providing all the con ---ditions are met with the participating stu- dents to bear full costs of the trip. The I975 Capital Grants Forecast Committee comprises E. Autio, M. Dettbarn, J. Nugent and M. Reid. The committee will meet September 9 at 7 p.m. at the Marathon High School. The Board endorsed the resolution of The Fort Frances-Rainy River Board of Education re- garding compulsory membership in Ontario School Trustee's Council and that notification of this be forwarded to the Minister of Education. Correspondence from R.W. Burgess and J.J. Bishop, Board employees, indicated their inter -est in purchasing the Board-owned residences they currently occupy as tenants. A group of French speaking ratepayers have expressed their wish to have a French Advisory Committee established for Manitouwadge High School. continued page 2 ....... wleiv ele AUXILIARY DONATES TO HOSPITAL The Hospital Auxiliary is indeed a hard working organization as again their ventures have made donations to the hospital possible. The Rossport Ladies of the Auxiliary held a bingo to raise funds and purchased two over bed tables (pictured to the left), and an ECG machine (right) was donated by the Auxiliary to the McCausland Hospital.
