AUGUST 28, 1974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 7 GAULIN: Funeral services for Francis Henry Gaulin were held in the Community Church, Terrace Bay on Saturday afternoon, August 24th, at 2 p.m., conducted by members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, and the Masonic Lodge, No. 662. Francis Gaulin, who passed away suddenly on August 2Ist, was born in East Angus, Quebec on July IO, I920. He completed his education there, and served his country in the Canadian Army, being posted to England during the war years. Upon returning to civilian life, he was employed as time keeper by the Brompton Pulp and Paper Company of East Angus. On September 24th, I945, he was married to Sadie Miles, also of East Angus. Shortly aft- er, he was transferred to the Red Rock Ontario branch of the Brompton Pulp and Paper Company. During his stay in Red Rock, he was active in Union activities, being one of the organizers. In the fall of I948 he came to Terrace Bay, Ontario, securing employment with Kimberly- Clark of Canada. He was digester cook with the company, until the .time of death. He had been honoured on the event of the 25th anniver -sary of employment with Kimberly-Clark. Mr. Gaulin was Charter member of the Mason- ic Lodge, No. 662, Terrace Bay and also an ac- tive member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bra- nch 223, Terrace Bay. He helped to build the original Legion hall in the South Camp, and al -so assisted in the construction of the Mason- ic hall. In the last few years, due to ill health, he had not been as active a member. Mr. Gaulin is survived by his son, Henry of Weston, Ontario, former wife Sadie, East Angus, Quebec, sisters Fern and Olive, St. Catherines, brothers, Raymond of Red Rock and Ottie, in the United States and Gerald of East Angus. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Ord Gaulin, his father, Theophile Gaulin, both of East Angus, and a brother Clifford and sis- ter Hattie. The Masonic Lodge of Terrace Bay, held a service in the King Funeral Home, Schreiber, on Friday evening at 7 p.m. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Bran- ch 223, formed a Guard of Honour at the Comm- unity Church, until the hour of service. President, Forbes Cruickshank took charge of the Funeral service.
