Mr. and Mrs. Karl Redins and their family have returned home after an extensive holiday visiting relatives: Miss Doris and Miss Sheila McParland, Calgary; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Holmes, Powell River, B.C.; Dr. and Mrs. Stanley Morr-' ill, Vancouver; Mr. and Mrs. Steven Morrill in Revelstoke, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Roman in Ferndale, Wash. and old friends, Mr. and Mrs. Gabe Gauthier in Kamloops. Many family dinners and happy evenings are being spent by Mr. and Mrs. David Nesbitt and their guests Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sullivan and Tom- my Sullivan junior of New York, and Mrs. Mary Sparkes and her guests Mr. and Mrs. Joe Molin- ski of Vancouver. A double relationship is enjoyed by this group with Mrs. Sullivan being Davis Nesbitt's sister, and Mrs. Nesbitt, Mrs. Sparkes and Mrs. Molinski, all sisters - the former Dunkirk girls. / Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Simon have been Art Kinnerar, Kingston; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilson, Leamington; Mrs. Kay Coglin, Thunder Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wilson, Sudbury and Spencer Wilson, Sioux Lookout. Mrs. Teresa Ray has been appointed By/Law Enforcer for the Township of Schreiber. Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Wallace have returned from North Bay where on August IOth, they attended the wedding of their niece, Janie Wallace to Mr. Peter McCann. Mr. and Mrs. Terry O'Driscoll and their fam- ily have returned from their vacation spent with relations in Renfrew, Ottawa and other nearby centres. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Krystia and son Randy have returned from an extensive tour in the Maritim- es, touring New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prin- ce Edward Island, filled with admiration, but still convinced Lake Superior and Northwestern Ontario are still the best. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sisson have returned from their vacation spent in Guelph where they where joined by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gellert ) who had been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bourk in Ottawa. It was inadvertently stated Mrs. Ethel Smitheman is a Thunder Bay Hospital patient - instead, she is in St. Joseph's Hospital, Sudbury. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Drake attended a happy reunion of the Drake family, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mayotte, in Thunder Bay. Others attending were Mrs. Art McPhee (Rowena Drake) Victoria, B.C.; and Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Robinson (Dolly Drake) of Willowdale. - Miss Jewel Paradis, bride-elect of this month, was honoured at a community shower, arranged in the United Church Hall on August I6th. Assisting her in receiving were her mother, Mrs. William Paradis, her fiance's mother, Mrs. George Riley, Miss Laureen Kusik, and Miss Janice Paradis. Mrs. Stanley Kusik, was the tea hostess and the servitors were the Misses Debbie Caccamo, Susan Dimmery, Debbie Cook and Shar- on Scott and Lucy Racioppi and Mesdames Dan Godin, Don Anderson and Knut Schmiedchen. Mesdames Len Crockford, Harold Gellert, Burton Phillips, Frank McKenna and Ken Davis replenished. The gifts were opened by Mrs. Dan Riley and Mrs. Jim Mikus and Shanan Riley attended the guest book. Gaston Blais, Regional Director Ontario Arts Council, of Toronto, was here to confer with council (municipal) representatives, art-oriented people in town, and R.A. Cress- man, Director of Education, Lake Superior Board of Education. Mr. Blais came in response to a request from people disturbed over the closing of the Regional Office in Thunder Bay. Contact now, he explained will be maintain -ed by placing correspondents in the area = a possible ten in Northwestern Ontario. The- se will be given training in Toronto in the responsibility they will assume as liason off -icers and will receive a small increment for their work. It was assumed these correspondents will be residents of the area, already interested in the Arts and familiar with problems pecul- iar to our vast region. are pleased to announce the maviage of their daughter Rosemary to Mr. Andy McFall of Tren- ton, Ontario.
