This is wonderful canoe country. a canoe and find out about it. Take out WILDERNESS ADVENTURE : This programme for boys and girls IO to I2 is well underway. The first week has been packed with lessons in canoeing, first aid and map and compass. All this is preparation for the expeditions which begin this week. Thanks to the parents who volunteered to drive the kids from Whitesand to Schreiber. It makes it much easier for us if we don't have to hire a bus for that extra afternoon run. SWIMMING: The Swim Staff report that things are going well. All the classes are full and the weath- er has been fairly co-operative. Adult swimming is underway as well. We're hoping for a lot of Mark Spitz's in the men's class. LACROSSE : The lacrosse clinic will be here all this week. Dick Henderson of the Sports Council is the instructor. Sessions are held in the arena so come and watch. Schreiber Recreation has all the lacrosse equipment necessary thanks to the office of the Athletic Commissioner. Perhaps lacrosse interest in the community could lead to for- mation of a league and lacrosse could become a continuing sport for Schreiber and the North Shore. Lauri Halonen has already given several lessons in lacrosse. If you're interested in learning the game, whatever your age, call the Recreation Office and register. WHITESAND BEACH SUPERVISION: ' The Schreiber Recreation swim instructors have agreed to supervise the beach daily throughout the summer.
