JUNE 26, I974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I9 SCHREIBER RECREATION NEWS TENNIS: Lessons are underway now so if we get some nice weather, we may soon have some tennis players in Schreiber. Thanks to all those who volunteered to teach: Al Rowntree, Debbie Smith, Mike Miller, Billy Hiller, Paulo Pelle- grino, Tom McGrath, Marta McPherson, Kim Gell- ert, Don McMillan. The nets are kept at Erin Bourke's house which is right across from the tennis courts. Anyone who wishes to play and can show a mem- bership card, is welcome to use them. They are not difficult to put up. After you are finished playing, make sure that the people who follow you on the courts have membership cards. If they don't, take the net down and return them to Bourke's house. Since there are a lot of people who want to play, please limit your time on the court to 30 minutes. If a lesson is in progress, the teacher and his/her students have first claim to the court. Lessons last one hour unless there are no people waiting to play. Students and teachers should contact one another about when lessons will be held. With many of the teachers on strange work schedules this seems like the only way we can organize the lessons. So call up a teacher if you want a lesson; or call up your students if you want to teach. SWIMMING: ; There will be an organizational meeting for all those who registered for swimming on Fri., June 28th at the Public School at 4 o'clock. Everyone should be there to find out what time his/her lessons begin, what to bring, where to catch the bus, etc. Come out and meet your instructor and find out what excit- ing plans she has for you. Parents are also welcome to come and get the information first- hand. That's 4 o'clock, Friday at the Public School in Schreiber for all who registered for swimming. WILDERNESS ADVENTURE: . This week is staff training for the Wilder- ness Adventure programme. On the staff we have Doris Lehto, Jeff Lee, Cathy Cook and Paulette Perras. Doris is at college preparing for work with Mentally Retarded children. She has lots of experience working with people and is a qual- ified first aid person.
