Graver expressed appreciation to Kimberly-Clark for the Motor Hotel, to the Province of Ontario for their assistance, and the notation that it wculd be operated by the Thunder Bay District Board of Management as a Home for the Senior Citizens of Thunder Bay District. Board Member, Mrs. Margaret Sideen, and President of the Thunder Plesner expressed her pleasure at being invit- ed to attend the opening and for the opportun- ity of visiting and meeting the residents of Terrace Bay. i As people began to take leave of each oth- er, it was very evident that Birchwood Terr- ace official opening had, indeed, been most successful. - Photos page 4 HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING The McCausland Hospital Board of Governors held a regular monthly meeting on May 2I, I974 in the basement of the Schreiber Municipal Building. The minutes of the last regular meeting and the Special Meeting of April I7, I974 were de- clared adopted as circulated to the Board. The Board received a report regarding the negotiations for a heating agreement ,with Pine- wood Court. The Executive Committee was author -ized to continue the negotations in an effort to bring the matter to conclusion. A good turn-out of Mun- icipal Representatives, including Mayors, Reeves, Board Chairmen and Coun- cillors, as well as a goodly number of residents from the District contri- buted substantially to the gala occasion and who enjoyed a wine and cheese party served in the main lounge sponsored by Bar- nett-McQueen Management Contractors. Heads of staff from Pinewood Court and Birch- wood Terrace enjoyed a most palatable lake trout dinner at which the new Director, Mr. Sohn brought greetings from the Senior Citizens' Bureau and ex- pressed his Departments' desire to be of assistan- ce wherever and whenever possible.
