JUNE I2, 1974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I3 Wilderness Adventure = continued first aid, survival swimming and we are also, planning a variety of excursions which should be of interest to the students. If you are interested in learning about the bush and how to live in it this is a good chance to get some of the necessary skills. Registration forms should be brought to the Recreation Office with the fee by Friday, June I4th. EVENING CANOEING: Since Schreiber Recreation has canoes and equipment, we are going to try for maximum use of them this summer. We are going to try to have the canoes available in the evenings on White Sand Lake whenever they aren't out with the Wilderness Adventure program. There will be a sign-out system and we hope to have super- vision and perhaps someone who could do a litt- le teaching there. Further details will be posted in the community as to when the canoes are available, etc. LACROSSE : Registration forms for lacrosse have been distributed in the schools. This is only a preliminary registration for the lacrosse clin- ic which we hope to have this summer. The clin -ic is primarily designed for students aged six to I6 and will be held in July. The Ontar- io Lacrosse Association has asked us to provide billets for the two instructors while they are in Schreiber. There is a place on the regis- tration form for parents to indicate their will -ingness to accept an instructor for one or two nights. since this is the only contribution we have been asked to make to the program. The instructors will arrive here with all the necessary equipment for playing the game. They will also bring films and audio-visual aids. If you are interested in learning to play Canadan's national game, fill in the pre- liminary registration and we will contact you when we have more definite details about the clinic. Lauri Halonen plans to continue the program after the clinic on a regular coaching-team play basis. Interested adults are asked to register as well. Forms are available at the Recrea- tion Office or fill in the one your child brought home. ART TREK: Preliminary registration forms for Art Trek have also been distributed in the schools.
