Under committee reports, Mrs. Peggy Helmink brough a recommendation from the Recreation Committee, that a reconditioned cash register be purchased, for use at the snack bar. 'A motion was passed, authorizing the purchase. Mrs. Helmink also reported that vandalism was rampant again in the Recreation Complex, with two sinks having been ripped off the wall in the men's washroom. Two fire extinguishers in the boys change room had been activated, and lockers overturned. These acts of vandalism are under investigation, and steps will be taken if the guilty parties are found. A letter from Reeve Bray to Dr. Baldwin was read, commending the Board of Governors of McCausland Hospital, for their report on the Proposed Health Facility, and their effor- ts in compiling a factual and informative statement of local opinion relating to health care in our area. Reeve Bray stated that he trusted Dr. Baldwin and his department would give favourable consideration to the proposals contained in the report. The Board of Management, Homes for the Aged have requested Council to host a Symposium at the official opening of Birchwood Terrace, May 31st. Council were happy to comply. Mr. Don Stewart and Mr. J. Hale have been authorized to attend a meeting of the A.M.E.U. to be held in Thunder Bay April I6 and I7.
