These are issued from Ministry offices upon receipt of an Appli- cation for Work Permit and are subject to local regulations. : ; : (3) Restricted Zones: If the weather is hot, dry and a high fire danger exists, travel in forest areas may be curtailed. This is done by order of the Minister. We then have what we call a Restricted Zone. Again what does this mean? There are two types of restricted zones. In the first type, travel is still permitted but no open fires are allowed. To cook or obtain warmth, 'it is necessary to use a portable stove or charcoal installations. The second type of restricted zone is used dur- ing very severe conditions. It restricts travel completely in the restricted zone. In this District. Travel and Fire Permits are issued at our offices in Terrace Bay and Manitouwadge. Fire Permits are also issued at the Northern Affairs office in Marathon.
