PUPILS ENTERTAIN AT BIRCHWOOD TERRACE Pupils of Grade 6, Holy Angels Separate School, Schreiber, with teacher Suzanne Lemay as well as Holy Angel's choirs, put on an afternoon performance for the residents of Birchwood Terrace Wednesday afternoon. After the performance, they were treated to donuts, cup cakes, cookies and pop, while the adults had tea and coffee. Miss Lemay directed the plays, and Sister Carol with her guitar led in the singing. The editors have chosen the following essay from several excellent ones turned in, to portray the afternoon. This is by Anne Marie Borutski. "Girls and boys talking in a makebelieve classroom! This was only one act in the Mission Concert that the Grade 6's of Holy Angels School put on for the Senior Citizens of Birchwood Terrace, Terrace Bay. It took place on March I3, I974. Funny acts, plays and dances were performed. A musical number was played on the piano. John Anderson, chairman of Grade 6's Mission Society, opened the meeting by welcom- ing everyone and telling them about the Miss- ion Society and how it helps the poor child- ren of the world. The choir conducted by Sister Carol sang "What About Me", "Yellow Bird" and three more songs. Sister Carol was accompanied by Mark Commisso in playing the guitar. Everyone enjoyed their wonderful perform- ance. Linda Speziale who is the Junior winner of Holy Angels School Oratorical Contest read her speech on babysitting. She received a very lively hand of applause. After the concert Grade 6 thanked the Residents. Mr. Rafalant also thanked the Grade 6's for their fine entertainment. Mr. Theriault's lunch was surely praised by all the Grade 6's as they munched donuts, and cupcakes. After everything was packed and everything was put away, Grade 6 return- ed to Schreiber worn out and tired. It was an afternoon for all to remember." The following photos were taken during the afternoon. continued page 3 ......
