A donation of $500.00 was acknowledged rom the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, to e used towards the Medical Centre. Fire Chief, Peter Doig was authorized to ttend the Ontario Fire Fighters' College at ravenhurst, from April I - May IO and again rom October 2I - December 3I, being re-imbur- ed by the township at $I50.00 per week. The Volunteer Fire Department in Schreiber as commended for its efficiency during the ast year, and in particular, at two recent ires. It was decided to continue the present ystem of refilling Scott Air Paks for the ise of the Fire Department. Edmund Borutski was authorized to attend a hree day Chlorinization Workshop on April 23- 5 in Thunder Bay. ; The Council will support the Association of lunicipalities of Ontario in opposing the rate ncreases by Bell Telephone, and it was decid- d not to take membership in the Bell Teleph- ne Subscribers' Association. Whetter's request to have proper vater service installed to his property on Simon St., his complaint based on freezing of the present plastic pipe, will be investigat- sd by the property committee. Estimates for the budgets for the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, and the Homes for the Aged, were accepted. A supplementary report on the Cooks Lake dam has been received from M.M. Dillon Ltd. with C.P. Rail notified, and council are hope- ful there will be an early reply to proceed with the project. The Ontario Municipal Board requested furth -er information on the Medical Centre and the Cooks Lake dam project. TERRACE BAY POLICE REPORT : A total of seventeen occurrences were investigated during the past week. Two juveniles were reported drinking liquor in the Recreation Centre. They were dealt with informally. A report of a cotter felt $50. dollar bill was proved genuine after investigation. Five motor vehicles were spot checked and ' four warnings issued. Two dog by-laws were investigated. One missing person was located. MINNIE MCCUAIG BONSPIEL The first event in the Minnie McCuaig Bon- spiel, an annual event in-the Schreiber Curl- ing Club was won by Tom McCuaig's rink, from Thunder Bay with Myrna McCuaig, Hugh Holmes, and Marilyh McCuaig. Second - Barry Harper, Wendy Martin, Lawr- ence Madge, Brenda Harper; Third - Ivan Cocks, Don Winters, Dixie Winters, Cathy Cocks; Fourth = George Riley, Joy Riley, Nick Racioppi, Eva Gordon. Second Event: First - Geno Caccamo, Billie Ann Saarinen, Edgar LeBlanc, Edie Clemens; 2nd - Jim McCuaig, Audrey Morgan, Phil Lee, Merla McCuaig; 3rd - Edgar Ray, Charlene Halloran, Hector Halloran, Theresa Ray; 4th - Mike Morgan, Betty Huard, Roy Huard, Betty- Ann Huard. Third Event: Ist - Paul Gauthier, Charlotte Miller, Gordon Lark, Cecile Wilson; 2nd - Ivan Cocks, D. A smorgasbord dinner was enjoyed on Satur- day evening, followed a social evening, with the crowd highly diverted ky some unplanned acts by local performers. McCuaig family members from out of town included: Mr. and Mrs. Tom McCuaig, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim McCuaig, Thunder Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Morgan (Audrey McCuaig), Manitouwa- dge; other friends were Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Cocks, Mr. and Mrs. Don Winters, Thunder Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Hector Halloran, Manitouwadge. Mr. and Mrs. John Spikula with Steven and Jeremy have returned from Toronto were they visited Mrs. Rita Sweet.
