MARCH 27, 1974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE II MINOR PEEWEES NORTH SHORE CHAMPS RECREATION NEWS Congratulations are in order to the RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB: + Schreiber Avco Flyer Pee Wees in winning the North Shore Minor Hockey Championship on March IOth, I974. Following this win they went on to the Thunder Bay Elk's Club Pee Wee Tournament, winning three in a row against Sioux Lookout (2-1), Geraldton (8-4) and Nipigon (6-5 in an overtime thriller) bringing them into the B Division 'championship game in which they lost to New Brighton Minnesota (6-2). Goaltender Frank Trichilo walked off with the tournaments most Oustanding Goal- tender Award. WINTER CARNIVAL ARTS~CRAFTS & HOBBY DISPLAY ENJOYED BY COMMUNITY The Arts-Crafts and Hobby display arranged by the Catholic Women's League in conjunction with the Annual Winter Carnival was termed a joy and success by viewers, participants and organizers. Interesting talent was featured in the many areas of painting, needlework, macrame, knitting, weaving, woodworking, nature craft pictures, quilting, furniture, model building, ete. It is desired that during the forth coming year as people fill leisure creative hours enjoying a favorite passtime, they will keep in mind the possibility of a display next year should the Funtime Winter Carnival once again become a reality. Our sincere thanks to all viewers, partic- ipants and workers. Congratulations to Mrs. Leona Fournier winner of the door prize, a craft creation made and donated by Mrs. M. Bray. It is set for Saturday, March 30th, and registration is to take place this week. The first and sec- ond place in each event are to be the Terrace Bay representatives in the North Shore Tourna- ment on May 4th in Manitouwadge. MANITOUWADGE JUNIOR RINGETTE GIRLS WIN TWO: On Thursday, March 2Ist, the visiting Man- itouwadge girls' team defeated Terrace Bay 9- 3 and in the second game, 6-5. Scoring for Terrace Bay was Linda Greenwood who accounted for all 8 goals. Manitouwadge scorers were G. Gagnon with 4, T. Forgues with 4, G. Celiskow- sky had 3, V.
