A letter requesting financial assistance was received from the Mental Health Associa- tion of Ontario. Council will hold this let- ter as many other requests are being received. St. Martin School was granted permission to hold a bottle drive in town and the Knights of Columbus will be allowed to sell tickets on the Provincial Charities Draw. The Hon. Rene Brunelle wrote extending best wishes for the extension of the pool and en- closed a cheque for $I,055.00. The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has advised that the term of the Schreiber-Terrace Bay area representative has expired. It was «later learned that a Schreiber resident is due to be appointed and Harold McParland will pro- bably fill this position. Approval was granted to hold membership for this year in the following organizations: O.M.E.A., A.M.E.U., Ontario Good Roads Assoc- iation, Municipal Clerk-Treasurers Association, and Association of Municipalities of Ontario. Accounts passed for payment were: Township $133,188.93; Hydro $14,151.23; Library Board $1,155.90; Recreation Committee $8,70I.2I. A reduction in rent for I973 of $63. will be granted the Curling Club due to lack of heat and a $232.00 reduction to Rochon's Snack Bar due to lack of heat and other related problems. The resignation of Constable H. Sturgeon was received and accepted with regret effec- tive January II, I974. A resolution was then passed to employ continued page 2 ...c.vsu- SNACK BAR UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT » The changing of ownership and management in the business world is continuing in Terr- ace Bay for I974 as Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kuryle have taken over the management of the Recre- ation Snack Bar now to be known as "Doreen's Snack Bar". Last Friday was opening day and many res- idents gathered for free coffee and donuts (home-made too - a delicious example of the fine home cooked food that will be available) Congratulatory flowers from Mr. and Mrs. Ted Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Beaulieau contributed to the many best wishes received during the day. Reeve Roy Bray (centre photo) also dropped in for coffee and offered his best wishes to Doreen and Bill. y Doreen's Snack Bar has already set a first - when they catered to a dinner for 22 ladies in the dining area of the snack bar.
