JANUARY 16, I974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I3 NORTH SHORE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENTS In the December North Shore Basketball Tournaments results were as follows: Schreiber-Terrace Bay senior girls lost to Marathon on Dec. 6 by 34 to 20. Darlene Fummerton was the top scorer for Lake Superior with IO points, followed by Teresa Falzetta with 7 points. In the second game, Darlene was again top scorer with IO points and Teresa getting 6. The senior boys defeated Marathon 63 to 29 Robert Vanderkam was top rebounder with 22 rebounds, followed by Steve Ferguson with 9. Top scorer was also Robert Vanderkam with 23 points, followed by Bill Souliere with I6 points. In the second game the Hawks overcame an 8 point deficit to defeat Manitouwadge 62 to 534 Top rebounder for Lake Superior was Mark Stokes with IO rebounds followed by Steve Ferguson. Bill Souliere was top scorer with 27 points followed by Mark Stokes with I6. Top scorer for Manitouwadge was Whiteway with 23 points. The Lake Superior junior boys defeated Marathon 35 to 3I but lost to Manitouwadge 57 to 30. Top scorer for junior boys was Paddy Stokes. The Lake Superior junior girls lost to Marathon 25 to I7 with Debbie Opas top scorer with I2 points. The junior 'girls also lost to Manitouwadge by 35 to 22 - Debbie Opas again top scorer = with I2 points.. December I9th Lake Superior senior girls lost to Manitouwadge 50 to 23 with Frances Cook and Bennie McEwen each getting 8 points. Lake Superior girls also lost to Marathon, 3I to 20, with Pat McGrath and Bennie McEwen each getting 6 points. The Lake Superior Senior boys defeated Manitouwadge 48 to 47 in a close game - Robert Vanderkam and Mark Stokes top rebounders with I2 rebounds each. Vanderkam and Bill Souliere each had I7 points. The senior boys also de- feated Marathon 79 to 37. Top rebounder was Robert Vanderkam with I7 rebounds followed by Mark Stokes with II. Top scorer was, Shane Walsh with 20 points, Robert Vanderkam with I5 and Steve Ferguson, with I2. How True! When both the roads and driv- ers are dry, the roads are safer. Zombori Clerk-Treasurer CHIMO CLUB The Chimo Club's informal 'At Home' was well attended, despite the bitter weather, "with the visitors staying on to visit with the members, admiring the handsome club room and efficient and well-stocked kitchen supplies. Alice Sparkes, the convener, was assisted in serving the small tea tables by Bern Jacomb, 'Winnie Campbell, Annie Niemi, Olive Cash, Irene Henderson, Dora Weaver and Eva ' Haughn. A beautiful floral arrangement for the occasion was presented by Councillor, Robert Krause and his wife.
