The Irish Regiment has the bye Friday night. ) ATHLETIC AWARDS At the annual athletic awards day, Lake Superior High School, trophies were presented as follows: ' Arlene Krause, Midget girls champion; Gerard Pineault, Midget boys; Darlene Fummerton, junior girls champion; Mark Stokes, junior boys champion. The senior girls and boys track and field champions were Clover Dukes and Lonnie Connel- ly - now attending Universities in eastern Ontario. School letters were presented to Valerie Larson, Mark Stokes, Bill Smilsky, and Shane Walsh. SER The Award of Excellence was presented to Mark Stokes, Rae Sisson, Linda Beauparlant, Ron Chicoine, and Susan Johnson. : Canada Fitness awards were presented and bars. for the following activities - volley ball, basketball, (these in four groups), golf, curling, badminton, gymnastics, cheer- leading and Canada Fitness Awards. McCuaig. 5 MUTUAL FIRE AID ASSOCIATION MEETING Thirty members of the Thunder Bay District Mutual Fire Aid Association attended a lunch- eon meeting in Schreiber, held in the towh hall, attended also by Reeve Harold McParland and councillor J.S. Caccamo, council's liason officer with the fire department, and Lorne Cottenden, District Adviser, O.F.M. : Two safety companies were represented. Levitt Safety, with a wide display of their products and Safety Supply Co. with a display, demonstration and film on their products. "The local department, under Chief Peter Doig, were affored an unexpected opportunity to display their brigade in action when they were called from the meeting to deal with a small fire. i Schreiber is in Zone 4, in the district association, with Terrace Bay, Marathon and Manitouwadge, other communities being Nipigon, Red Rock, Geraldton, Beardmore, Long Lac, Nakina, Dorion, Thunder Bay, Kakabecka, Shun- iah and Murillo. : Mrs. Art Huard, whose husband is a member of the Schreiber department, volunteered to convene the luncheon and was assisted by Mrs. Paul Gauthier, Mrs. Camille Perras, Linda Huard, Paula Gauthier and Cathie Doig. LADIES EVENING BOWLING RESULTS After four weeks of bowling the standings are: Mayfair 38 points; Gutter Girls 35 points Scooby Doo's 35 points; Bad Girls 26 points; Groaners 23 points; Hot Dogs 23 points. On October I8th, Inge Deutscher rolled: 302. ; Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Nicol and Gerald Nicol have returned from visiting Mr. and Mrs. T. Cenerelli in Kitchener, where they also en- joyed the city's October-fest.
