Vol. 16 No. 3I August 9, I973 I5¢ Per Copy CHIMO CLUB RECEIVES NEW HORIZONS GRANT Health and Welfare Minister Marc Lalonde announced the 8th group of grants to projects under the New Horiz- ons program. Grants to I84 projects in this series total $1,215,933. The pro- jects involve 28,900 people. This group of grants brings the tot- al to date to $6,505,893 for 970 pro- jects. New Horizons was introduced as a pro -gram of the Department of National Health and Welfare in the summer of I972. It was designed to assist retir- ed men and women with projects that 'would benefit themselves and the comm- unity. Under this new list, the Schreiber Chimo Senior Citizens Club =~ senior - citizens centre will receive $9,332. Kuhk, Regional Traffic Superintendent. "By copy of the reply to your letter of June I8th, I973, the Deputy Minister, Mr. A.T.C. McNab, has asked us to advise you of the findings and results of our investigation into the accident situation on the curve west of the Steel River Bridge. Watts, age 24, is trying to set a new record for Cross Country travel, on a home-made Unicycle. He has travelled from Edmonton on this 42" diameter wheel, averaging 50 miles a day, passing through Terrace Bay on July I3th. He stayed overnight at the home of Mrs. Eva Connors, who took his picture.
