WHITE-NEELY VOWS EXCHANGED Wedding vows were exchanged between Candice Neely and Richard White in the Community Church on June 30th at 3 p.m. Candice Elizabeth Neely is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Neely of Terrace Bay and Richard Daniel White is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy White of Marathon. Reverend A. Chabot performed the ceremony in front of the altar decorated with purple lilacs and a lilac spray tucked into the white satin bows marked the guest pews. Mrs. M. Simmer was the organist and Mrs. Claire Roen was the soloist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a long white gown of Fortrel crepe, fash- ioned with slim lines, and a lace overcoat, which formed a slight train, and a hood, out- lined with a daisy chain. She carried a bouqu- et of American Beauty Roses. The Maid of Honour, Miss Katie Kostiluk wore an ivory gown with a panel of brightly coloured embroidery on the front of the bodice and angel sleeves. Mrs. Toni Drake, of Prince George, B.C. was the bridesmaid wearing a green and white checked taffeta blouse with a green and white flocked daisy skirt over white taffeta and a green sash. Both attendants carried nosegays of pink Sweetheart roses. The Best Man was Patty Dick of Marathon and the ushers were the bride's two brothers, Blake and Blaine Neely. For the reception dinner held at the new Legion banquet hall, Mrs. Neely received wearing a peach Fortrel dress with princess lines and front pleats trimmed in chocolate brown. She wore a white rose corsage and white accessories. Mrs. White also received, wearing brown and beige coat and dress ensem- ble trimmed in brown, white accessories and an organce ice corsage. Denise and Debbie Vienneau circulated the guest book. The bride was feted at two showers in Ottawa and two in Terrace Bay, with hostesses Mrs. W. Barker and Mrs. Connie Thomas and Mrs. F. Vienneau and Mrs. L. Desaulniers. The groom's friends held a stag for him in Mara- thon. The couple will reside in Ottawa. For travelling, the bride donned a red crepe dress featuring a Halter neckline and white accessories. At the Royal Conservatory of Music Pianoforte Examinations held recently in Thunder Bay, the following pupils of Mrs. J. Rattray were successful: Grade VI - Carla Crockford - Honours; Grade VI - Norma Phillips - Pass.
