The internationally-known songstress, whose popularity has spread to Europe and beyond (she was recently named Britain's top female vocalist, Country-1972) will also be the Honourary Flowers of Hope Chairman during National Week for the Mentally Retarded, May 13-12. Although her professional schedule is too crowded and far flung to make personal appearances on behalf of local associations, Miss Murray's photograph and name or message will appear on many Flowers of Hope and other promotional materials in an effort to spur public interest in and support for the mentally retarded. Her 60-second television promo will be re-issued for TV stations across Canada. In 1972, Miss Murray visited numerous workshops and residences while touring Canadian cities.
