A Medical Records Committee was appointed so that case histories can be reviewed at subsequent meetings. The Drug Formulary will be reviewed at the next Medical Staff meeting to prevent duplic- ation of drugs in stock at the hospital. The Administrator requested that provision- al diagnosis be entered on patient's charts on admission by the doctor, to meet hospital regulations and assist the nursing staff. The problem of having a radiologist interpret X rays and provide reports was discussed and . the administrator asked to inquire into the cost of such a service. A Medical Records Policy was established and will be carried out by the Hospital administra- tor. Meetings will be held quarterly in future by special permission of the Board to improve the stands of patient care in the hospital. Dr. Adey commended the Board, the auxil- iary, the various organizations and indivi- duals whose support and encouragement has meant so much to both nursing and medical staff. Mrs. Beth Macadam, president; reviewed the work of the hospital auxiliary, now with a membership of 580 from Rossport, Schreiber and Terrace Bay. The volunteer committee purchased new Christmas decorations and carry on a library service, hair shampooing and sit with patients when required, along with other services. The Tuck Shop is the auxiliary's chief money-making project and a service much appre- ciated by patients. Some equipment has been donated to the hos- pital and other purchases are planned for May this year, and a Charity Ball for September. . that if the Canadiens didn't win the Cup, SPORTS SLANTS - By Ray Shank Well sirs (and madams, if you're hockey fans), the Shank abode is filled with joy these days --- and well it should be, the way those Flying Frenchmen are socking it to the opposition in their quest for a record I6th Stanley Cup. By the time you read this, it might be all over, although I must admit I figured Chicago Black Hawks would at least take one, maybe two games, in their Cup final against the Canadiens. The way Canadiens manhandled the Hawks in those first two games, though, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it went the minimum four games. The opening game was a thriller for two periods. Then the Canadiens decided they'd stop pestering around and went on to score four straight goals to make it an 8-3 walka- way . The score in the second game wasn't as high (4-I), but it was one of those games where the Canadiens so dominated the game that the Hawks could have scored five goals in the first period and the Habitants could have still won. What was expected to be a close, hard- fought series has turned out to be a mismatch. As of right now (with Canadiens leading the series 2-0), I think I'm quite safe in saying that I can start counting my chickens before they hatch. I mean, I don't have to worry about eating a column published here a month or so ago, in which I arrogantly said I'd eat the column. I've also started spending the money that I'll pocket from wagers made with fellow hockey fans ... Boston fans, New York fans, Chicago fans, etc. If you're a sports fan, but not a Montreal Canadiens fan, I have to tell you that if you Plan to read on, you'll suffer.... a lot. This whole column is about the Canadiens, like it or not, since they are the best squad in hockey, and as if you didn't already guess my favourite team. First, I'd like to say that the man who should win the Conn Smythe Trophy, as the most valuable individual in the Stanley Cup playoffs, is Sam Pollock. Sam isn't a play- er. He never was (not in the NHL, at least). But face it, he's the guy who makes the continued page 4 ......
