MAY 2, I973 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE II RECREATION NEWS LADIES KEEP FIT CLASSES - REGISTER NOW: The Terrace Bay Recreation Department will again be offering a Ladies Keep Fit programme which will start during the week of May 7th and continue for six consecutive weeks. Since there is not too much time remaining all inter- ested ladies are asked to register in the foll- owing way by Monday May 7th at the latest: call the Recreation Office at 3542 and leave your name and phone number and state which evening during the week you cannot take the programme. Instructor for this six weeks Keep Fit pro- gramme will be Sue Bulawka. Loss of weight is not the main emphasis in this six week pro- gramme. The purpose of these classes is to start you on a proper programme to get in shape. The amount of people allowed to take this course will be limited so REGISTER NOW! Reg- istration fee will be $2.50 for recreation mem- bers and $5.00 for non-members. TENNIS COURTS AVAILABLE FOR PLAY: At present the Tennis Courts are available for play for any member of the Terrace Bay Recreation Association. Keys are available at the Recreation Office at $I.00 each. The $I.00 is refundable whenever the key is returned. New nets are on order so for the present the older nets will have to do. It is hoped that this will be the last season that Tennis will be played on hard packed sand courts. Updating our tennis facilities will be a prime concern next year. Players using the sand courts are asked to report any damage to the Recreation Office or caretaker on duty. SUMMER STAFF REQUIRED: Be sure to refer to page I2 ... which indi- cates the types of summer staff positions av- ailable through the Recreation Department this summer. NORTH SHORE JUNIOR BADMINTON TOURNAMENT THIS SATURDAY : The North Shore Junior Badminton Tourna- ment will be held this coming Saturday, May 5th at the Terrace Bay Campus Auditorium. Play will get under way at 8:30 a.m. and will continue until 7:00 p.m. The general public is invited to attend and lend support to our local players. The communities of Manitouwadge, Marathon, Schrei- ber and Terrace Bay will be competing in the following events - boys and girls singles, boys and girls doubles and mixed doubles. COMING EVENTS: Friday May 4th - Cookie Day, Brownies and Guides will be canvassing the town.
