PAGE I2 TERRACE BAY NEWS APRIL I1,. 1973 NOTICE OF MEETING The McCausland Hospital Corporation will hold its ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS on Tuesday, April 24, 1973, 7:30 p.m, at Schreiber Campus Auditorium Lake Superior High School Schreiber, Ontario (Copies of the Hospital By-Laws are on display at both Public Libraries) NOTICE OF MOTION The following motion will be presented to the members of The McCausland Hospital Corpor- ation at the Annual Meeting on April 24,1973: BY-LAW NO. 2 BE IT ENACTED as a by-law of The McCausland Hospital as follows: Section 73 of the Hospital By-Laws of The McCausland Hospital be and the same are here- by amended by deleting Section 73 and sub- stituting the following therefor: 73. Credentials Committee (I) The Credentials Committee shall consist of a general practitioner from the Active Staff and two physicians appointed to the Honourary Staff by the Board with the primary purpose of serving on the Credentials Com- mittee. (2) The Committee shall elect its own chairman. Passed by the Board of Governors and seal- ed with the corporate seal this I3th day of June, I972. NOTICE OF MEETING The I973 Terrace Bay Winter Carnival Wind-Up Meeting will be held on Sunday, April I5th at 7:00 p.m. at the Recreation Centre. The tradition of Red Cross Youth in Canada has been a tradition of service. Today Red Cross youth are working to preserve that tra- dition, and to expand it in com- munities from coast to coast. LEGION BOWLING The Irish Regiment won the champion- ship roll-off. Members of the team are Bill Moon Sr. Captain, J. Fisher, S. Boyd, B. St. Louis, N. Chopty and Paulette Coupal. The Corvettes won the consolation event; H. Milks, Captain, M. Pluta, M. Teniuk, L. Swirhun, H. Cooke and A. Daley. Congratulations to these two teams. Dot Coupal was the high bowler with a four game total of 920 including games of 222, 209, 282, 207. Games over 200: - G. Churney 263; L. Swirhun 237, 202; H. Cooke 235, 260; A. Daley 2I6; H. Coupal 218, 206. Our thanks to Pam Jones, Peggy Regis and Ethel Boyd for keeping score. The bowling wind-up will be held in the New Legion Hall in May. Watch for the date! CHIMO SOCIAL A sparring match and a surgital op- eration in a shadow box set the tone for the Chimo Club's first party in Schreiber. The pugilists were announ- ced as Chimo Charlie (Ida Krause)and Igloo-Isb-rrr (George Birch) - their ring attire somewhat informal. But their seconds-Tommy Bolan and Harry Costa II were correctly supplied with towels, lemons and unfortunately, what appeared to be bottles of beer! How- ever, Joe Campbell - a former fighter- the referee, kept the fighters in order removing Chimo Charlie from a victor- ious position of the prone Igloo-after a knock-out blow. The shadow operation was performed by Betha Miller, Ida Krause and George Birch. Inez McKevitt and Inez McCuaig play- ed for several special dances and a singsong. Since Clem Downey, with Lester Mc- Cuaig and Katie Verdone, had done the spade work in forming the association, and Clem was away when the membership cards were issued, the Number One card continued page I3 i
