The enumerators are collecting this and other basic data - such as name, age, property occupancy status and citizenship = principally for municipal voters' lists which must be delivered to the Municipal Clerk by October 10th. The lists will be used in this year's municipal and school board elections being held in Terrace Bay on December 4th. Residents are urged to check the information recorded by the enumerators, who will be around this week, to make any necessary changes and to sign the notice as being correct. The enumerator will also sign the notice and will leave a copy with the resident. In Terrace Bay enumeration began Tuesday, September 5th and will continue all this week. When your enumerator calls give her your complete co-operation. FASTBALL FINALS The finals got underway August 14th with the first game turning into a pitching dual between Stan Spadoni of Gibson and Dick Mannisto of Legion. Gibson took the victory 2-1. In the second game Dick Mannisto tossed a three hitter, struck out four- teen batters and homered taking his Legion team to a 3-1 victory. Doug Moore also homered for Legion. The next game was a rain shortened 15 to 3 victory for Legion. Gibson's mighty offense came alive in the 4th game with twenty-one hits to register an 18-5 victory to square the series at two games apiece. Ted Winters and Dick Mannisto hit homers in that ne A. great defensive play by second baseman Jody Davis with the bases loaded in the nineth inning salvaged a 7-6 victory for Gibson in the 5th game. Doug Moore and Dick Mannisto hit homers in a los- ing cause for Legion. Alan Turner and Mike Miller drove in second inning runs and Legion never looked back en route to a 11-6 win. Dick Mannisto was again the big gun for Legion with a grandslam home run in the 3rd and a solo shot in the 5th, his 4th and 5th homers in the series. With the series now tied three games apiece the stage was now set for the seventh and final game August 28th. Legion's Bob Cressman homered in the Ist inning but Gibson fought back leaving the game tied 3-3. until the top of the 4th. With two out and no one on base Camilli Perras of Legion hit a high fly to the infield which dropped between the third baseman and the shortstop. Bob Cressman singled in the run to put Legion in front to stay. Doug Moore and Paul Gauthier drove in insurance runs in the 7th to salt away an 8-4 win and the Legion had won their 2nd straight Schreiber Fastball League Championship. RECREATION NEWS Art Workshop in Terrace Bay September 18th-19th: The Recreation Office is pleased to announce that an Art Workshop (oils) will be held in Terrace Bay on September 18th-1%th in the Craft Room of the Recreation Centre. Because of space available and the length of time that the instructor will be in Terrace Bay, the course will be limited to the first 16 people who register. Cost for the course is $2.00 plus supplies for Recreation members and $4.00 plus supplies for non-Recreation members. Anyone inter- ested in taking this course should call the Recreation Office and leave your name and phone number by September 14th. Course instructor will be Mr. Alec Miller. Local artists will remember Mr. Miller when he conducted a mixed media workshop a little over a year ago. Register now!
