Hanley to win the Aguasabon Open held August 26 and 27. Oliver shot a par score on Saturday but dropped to a 78 on Sun- day for a total of 150 one stroke better than Ken who birdied the 16th and 17th holes and was inches away from a birdie on 18. BERT RATCHFORD BURRIED IN TERRACE BAY Funeral services for Herbert (Bert) Percy Ratchford were held in St. Martin of Tours on Tuesday morn~ ing, with Father A. Greengrass officiating. The funeral was under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, of which Bert was a member. The Rosary was recited on Monday evening at the McNally Funeral Home, Schreiber. Bert was born in Kenora, but had resided in Terrace Bay for the past twenty-five years. He was employed as Purchasing Agent at the Kimberly- Clark mill in Terrace Bay and had just celebrated his twenty-five years with the company, in July of this year. Mr. Ratchford is survived by his wife Jessie, two sisters, Mrs. Jack Hamer, of Thunder Bay; Mrs. R.E. Tremblay, of British Columbia, and one brother Jack of Kenora. Pall bearers were Gus McInnes, Joe Heenan, Jim Clancy, Tom Pollard, Henry Duriez and Rob Harris. Interment took place in Terrace Bay Cemetery. TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT For the week August 20th - 26th Police attended Seventeen general occurrences. An International Scout vehicle was stolen early Monday morning and is still under investigation. A fire took place at a local residence while the owner was on holidays which resulted in extensive smoke damage. Two break and enters during the week are still under investigation. An attempt was made to enter cars in the Hotel parking lot but efforts were frustra= ted by patrolling police officer. One accident occurred during the week with damage totalling $200.00. A local man was hit by an out of town school bus. Police attended seven calls for bears. One charge of wilful damage was laid under the Criminal Code and two charges under the Highway Traffic Act. Four minors were cautioned on Highway Traf- fic Act offences. Twelve bicycles were check and warned for their manner of riding. Five motor veh vehicles were checked for equipment and cautioned.
