ATHLETIC FIELD SLOW IN DEVELOPING Over a year ago a planning committee comprised of Lake Superior Board of Education representative Bob Cressman, Board Member Brian McDonald, Recreation Committee Members Ollie Chapman and Tom Pollard, High School representative Jon Ferguson and Gerry Dupas, Recreation Co-Ordinator was formed to devel op the concept of an Athletic Field in Terrace Bay. The development of the field was contracted to a local contractor and late last fall fertilizing and seeding completed the work that could be done before frost and the winter season set in. Unfortunately do to the unco-opeative public con- tinuing to destroy the field by walking across it and | the lateness of the year, the seed did not take. As Spring arrived you would hardly know any effort had been made to improve the field. The approximate cost of this hopeful worthwhile venture is $6,000. Of this the Board of Education will share 2/3 and the Recreation Department, 1/3 of the costs. cont'd page 9
