JULY 12,1972 TERRA CE BAY NEWS PAGE 11 CANADA DAY CELEBRATED IN TERRACE BAY A Soap Box Derby on Lakeview Drive led off Canada Day Celebrations in Terrace Bay. Final runs started at 2 a.m. Winners were R. Kurylo, R. McBride, T. Stachiw and R. Fournier. There was a disappointing lack of floats for the parade which started at noon = only the Fire Dept. Judging for costumes, decorated prams and bicycles took place on the Plaza in front of Cebrario's. Mrs. Gertrude Soughton, Mrs. Julie Rattray and Curly Hale were the judges, aided by Mrs. Ollie Chapman and Gerry Dupas. Winners in the pre-schoolers Best Costumes and Decorated Prams or Bikes were = Tracy Clark, Lisa Fournier, Kevin Roberts and Mary Anne Kostiuk. In the 6-8 class for costumes, prize winners were Michelle Luke, Sabina Burhmann and Cathy Ramsay. In the 9-12 Best Dressed Costumes, winners were Leslie McBride and Cheryl Moore, Ted Coupal, and Marie Rochon. In the all ages division, winners for Best Decorated Bicycles were - Diane Coupal,, Cathy Churney, and Natalie Kostiuk. Treats were issued to the children on the Moose Hall Grounds in the afternoon.
