MEETING The general meeting of St. Martin's Catholic Women's League was held on Sunday evening, Feb- ruary 13th, at 8 p.m., in the St. Martin's Parish Hall. Mrs. G. Dashkewytch opened the meeting with League prayers. The intention of the Rosary was said for the success of the "Peace and Development Campaign" in the Diocese. A passage from the Jerusalem Bible on "Kindness and Perseverance" was read by Mrs. W. Pytyck. A welcome was given by the president to all the ladies present. Secretary Mrs. L. Malashewski read the minutes of the last general meeting and all corresp- ondence. Treasurer Mrs. A. Regis gave the financial report. Standing committees tabled their reports. The Board of Governors of McCausland Hospital held a public meeting in the Terrace Bay High School Auditorium on Monday evening, February 21st, at 7:30 . All present were asked to attend and take part in the question and answer period. A giant Auction Sale is slated for Saturday, April 8th. New, slightly used, and old items are needed. Look around your attic, basement, garage and home for items for this suction sale. If you have any items, call Mrs. A. Connors at 3529 and they will be pick- ed up. Women's World Day of Prayer will be held this year of Friday March 3rd. The theme is "All Joy Be Yours". The service of Worship was developed by a group of European women. St. Martin's of Tours will host the World Day of Prayer services in St. Martin's Church at 2p.m. Funds from last year's offerings were distributed in Canada and around the world to support the production of Christian literature, Ecumenical (cont'd next column) projects, educational work, and to alleviate poverty and assit refugee programs. Mrs. Dashkewytch outlined the "Peace and Devgl- opment Campaign" for all Parishes in the Diocese. Lent 72" will once again be a united effort on beh- alf of the particular churches - Catholic = United - Anglican - Lutheran - Presbyterian, in educating Canada at large, on the great need for help in the underdeveloped countries of the world, "When help- ing others hurts a bit, you know you've made a sac- rifice". All members present then drove to Holy Angels in Schreiber, to be their guests to hear Father Meyer talk on "Youth of Today". His talk left us thinking on how we could bridge the Generation Gap as parents. ROYALTY TO REIGN ON LEGION BONSPIEL The Legion Mixed Bonspiel slated for February 26th, will have a King & Queen reigning all day during the Bonspiel as well as for the evening social . A Smorg- asbord Dinner will be held following the last draw. Dinner to be served at 7:30 p.m. To be eligible for having the Royal Tiaras curlers must be at the Legion Club Room Friday night, when Bonspiel Chairman, C. Koski, will make the draw.
