PAGE 24 TERRACE BAY NEWS DECEMBER 3, 1970 A.C. .W, HOLD CHRISTMAS BAZAAR Draw prizes at the Anglican Church Women's Christmas tea=bazaar were won as follows - Barbie doll by Mrs. Wesley Miller; barbie doll and wardrobe by Debbie Rigelsford; angel cake by George Duncan and fruitcake by Mrs. Jackie Turner. Mrs. Fred Harness, Mrs. Cyril Sparkes and Mrs. Bill Furlonger attended the bazaar counter; Mrs. Robert Ellicot the home baking table; Mrs. Brian Birch the fishpond and Mrs. Wesley Miller the White Elephant counter. Heather Graham was cashier. Draw tickets were sold by Mrs. J.D. Bryson. Table servitors were Mesdames Harry Jartus, Nor- man Glad, Phillip Birch, R.A. Turner and Miss Anne Bailey. Kitchen Committee = Mesdames Geoff. Birch, Jack Bryson, Reg Bailey, Doug Moore, John Patterson and Doug May. BURSARY AVAILABLE The bursary fund was described in a letter from the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario to Ruby Rebekah Lodge at their November 25th meeting. Any grade twelve or thirteen son or daughter of a Rebekah member in district 41, who is going ahead to further learning in college may apply for this bursary. Donations were made to St. John's Ambulance Brigade, the Thunder Bay R.B. and R.D. Association, and to the district association of Rebekah Lodge. Mrs. Anna Laine of Sault Ste. Marie was welcomed as a guest. Mrs. Gladys Hamilton reported two members are in Rochester for medical aid. The Unknown Friend program will be resumed and those members wishing to take part should have their names and dates ready for the December 9th meeting. A film will be shown after the next meeting and Mrs. Norma Fummerton will convene the lunch. Mrs. Gladys Hamilton outlined a money-making project which interested the lodge and was filed for further consideration. Following the meeting a Christmas penny auction was enjoyed and lunch served by Mrs. Florence Fischer's committee. ----- This year, the Schreiber Curling Club has expand- ed its executive to include four members of the Kins- SCHREIBER CURLING CLUB NEWS men Club of Schreiber as well as four of its own membership. The executive is as follows: = President Alex Krystia; Vice-President = Alvin Slater; Seore- tary = Edna Cocks; Treasurer = Pat Conley; Directors Brian Birch, Bob Cressman, Alex Gordon and Bev Stewart. It is the aim of this executive to rejuvenate the club and to amortize the mortgage . Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dukes are the membership conveners. Memberships are available from Mr. or Mrs. Dukes or any member of the executive. The fees are as follows: = males $20; females - $10; Social = $5; Students = $10 and $5. It is hoped that the citizens of Schreiber and area will take advan- tage of these attractive rates. In order to raise funds, the ladies of the curling club are catering to the 25th supper at the local Kinsmen Club's 25th Anniversary on Friday, Decem- ber 4th. Another project is the Turkey Shoot sponsored by the Curling Club of December 4th and 5th. (Details can be found in an advertisement in this edition}. The Schreiber Curling Club is looking forward to an active successful season with many more people curling and socializing in the long winter months. Arrange for your membership today. ROSSPORT ROSSPORT ELECT CURLING EXECUTIVE The 1970-71 executive of the Curling Club was elected Thursday evening at the Annual meeting held in the club room. They are president - Ronald Langan; Vice-Pres. Peter Mushqush; Sec. Maxine Hubelit and Treas. Chas Todesco (re-elected). Mac Hubelit retiring president called the meeting to order, welcomed the members and hoped for a successful curling season. Acting chairman appointed for the meeting was Ronald Lanigan and the secretary was Anne Todesco Owing to the lack of funds to begin the season's activities Mr. Hubelit offered the use of his water hose free this year for the flooding of the rink. The ice is to be made by voluntary help and Mr. Lanigan called for same from the members. Messers C. Todesco and M. Hubelit offered the free use of their trucks to haul the winter's supply of wood. Other members offered to saw and pile the wood at the rink. It was reported that someone had been breaking in- to the rink. New locks are to be put on some of the doors.
