NOVEMBER 19, 1970 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 17 NOMINATIONS NOTICE IS HEREBY given to the Separate School Electors of the Township of Schreiber in the District of Thunder Bay that in compliance with the Statutes in that behalf, | require the presence of the said electors at the: - LARGE MEETING ROOM TERRACE BAY RECREATION CENTRE. in the TOWNSHIP OF TERRACE BAY, at the hour of 7:30 O'CLOCK P.M. AND NO LONGER. It should be noted that when a proposed candidate is not present at the nomination meeting, his nomination paper is not valid unless there is evidence satisfac- tory to the returning officer that the proposed can- didate consents to be so nominated. One of the most inexpensive ways is to plant some of your favourite spring flowering bulbs for indeor forcing. Hyacinths, crocuses, tulips and daffodils are probably the most popular but others also respond quite well. The bulbs should be planted about half an inch apart and with the top of the bulb exposed. The soil should not be packed tightly. The type of soil is not critical, anything that will hold the bulb in place and will not become compact is good. The plant does not rely on nourishment from soil or fertilizer, all it needs is stored in the bulb. Tulips should be placed with the flat side of the bulb towards the edge of the post because that is the side from which the wide leaf grows. After planting, water well and store in a cold dark place, about 50° for 12 to 16 weeks. Don't forget to water occassionally.
