The meeting was opened with the Guide Prayer and Mrs. Caron chaired the meeting. Mrs. Hazel Howarth, Division Commissioner, visited the meeting and encouraged mothers to take an active part in the Guide movement. She stressed that it was not necessary for a mo- ther to know anything about Guiding. If she was at all interested, she would be trained to be a leader. ul The Guides have three new leaders, Mrs. Pam Jones who worked with Guides a few years back, Mrs. L. Cormier and Miss Sharon Brown. Mrs. Saranpaa is working with Brownies. Mrs. S. Dakin's resignation was regretfully accepted. The L.A. was informed that there would be International Training for Leaders in Thunder Bay, Oct. 24th at 9.00 A.M. at the Royal Edward. All leaders are requested to attend. The Trainers will be from Toronto. Also, a Commissioners Conference will be held in the afternoon. On Nov. 13th, there will be a Division Training in Nipigon and it is hoped that all leaders will attend this training also. A nominating Committee of Marg Stevens and Yolande Rajotte was picked and nomi- nations will be at the Oct. 26th meeting. The Registration fee is now due. Fly up is to be held on Oct. 19th in the basement of St. Martins Church and all parents are invited to attend. A bottle drive was held by the Rangers on Oct. 17th. The meeting was adjourned and a lovely lunch was served by Mrs. Rita McBride and Mrs. Gail Moore. MEN'S CURLING CLUB NEWS MIXED CURLING - The Mixed Curling Lea- gue is scheduled to begin on Friday, Nov. 13th. Some teams have already been entered but there is still lots of room for additional entries. As in the past, this league will be limited to 16 rinks and curling will be done on Friday nights. There will be an early draw at 7.00 p.m. and a late draw at 9.00 P.M. - Continued on pode 10 ......
