QUINTON Mrs. Tom Quinton, (nee Sandy Kragero) was hon- oured by her friends at a shower-tea arranged in St. John's Church hall on Friday evening, October 9th. Assisting in receiving were her mother, Mrs. R. Kragero and Mrs. Walter Klassen. Tea was poured by Mrs. Tom Bryant, Mrs. J.D. Bryson, Mrs. Keith Scott and Mrs. Ethel Smitherman. Servitors were Misses Pam Winters, Debbie McCan- na, Lynn Drake, Debbie Jones, Jane Davis, Debbie Smith and Janet Lengyel . Mesdames Russell Macadam, Jack Handel, Gary Drake, Jack Bryson, Reg Bailey and Arthur Moorey replenished. : The guest books was attended by Sharon Scott and gifts opened by Anne Bailey and Bergita James. U.C .W. PLAN CHRISTMAS BAZAAR FOR DEC. 5TH A donation was made to the Prairie Christian Train- ing Centre at the regular meeting of the United Church Women on October 7th. ; It was agreed to cater for a reception on December 28th in the town hall. continued vss 00580 Mrs . Macadam was asked to inquire into the cost of plastic table cloths, the paper ones presently used found to be expensive. i It was decided to resume the afternoon religious dialogues with the fist one set for October 14th in the United Church hall. Plans were made for lunch to be served at the social evening on October 18th in the church hall. Mrs. Annie Niemi, sewing convener, reported on the work of the committee and plans for the Christmas bazaar on December 5th. Mrs. Macadam collected for the Least Coin pro- ject. ; Mrs. E.C. Prinselaar read a paper on Being Thank- ful for the devotional period. Mrs. Frank Fummerton presided for the meeting, Mrs. Walter Dukes read minutes and correspondence, and in the absence of Mrs. Bill Thrower, Mrs. John Spillane presented. the financial statement. Mr . Prinselaar showed a film on Brazil, made by the Canadian Bible Society. Lunch was served by Mesdames Tommy Whent, Nelson Smith and A. Niemi.
