VENTURERS PARTICIPATE IN CANOE TRIP July 4th to 12th were very big days for eight mem- bers of the Ist Terrace Bay Venturers. During that preiod, Gary Opas, David and Dale Randa, Richard Smith, Michael Regis, Bevin Schritt, Alex Vander+ kam and advisor Doug Whicker participated in their Steel Lake Canoe Trip. The boys, as planned, went as far as Steel Lake but not down the Steel River. The group left town early on the morning of Satur- day, July 4th with four canoes and about ten packs full of tents, gear and supplies. The first night found them approximately two miles up Cairngorm Lake: Sunday, 'the fifth was spent resting and fishing. On Monday, they broke camp and set sail for the south end of Steel Lake.
