Parents .... Tickets are available for the Banquet ona "first come - first serve basis" from the Recrea- tion Office, Cy Brassard and John Pederson. If you are interested in attending the Banquet be sure to get your ticket NOW to avoid disappointment. At this stage the Minor Hockey Association has not finalized any "Guest Speaker" but they are still hope ful that someone will be in attendance. Presentation of team and individual awards will highlight the evening. MINOR FASTBALL '70 During this week (May 25 - 29) teams will be final ized and schedules drawn up and circulated to all players, coaches and umpires. League schedule starts on Monday, June Ist. Games in all leagues will be scheduled at the Separate School Field. If registered players have not received their copy of the schedule, additional copies are available at the Recreation Office. PARENTS AND TEENS Since the start of the Minor Fastball '70 is just around the corner, more names of people interested in helping as COACHES and UMPIRES would be appreciated. If you are interested in helping out please leave your name at the Recreation Office. ROLLER SKATING - THIS SUNDAY The first Roller Skating session of the season will be held this Sunday May 31st at 7:00 p.m. Sessions will be held once weekly on Sundays from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. unless interest warrants an increase. Member and Non-member prices will be enforced for all skating sessions. Be sure to take advantage of this family activity. . | TENNIS COURTS Courts will be open this coming week-end for casual play. Recreation members will be able to obtain a key on a sign out basis from the Recreation Office. We urge people using the Tennis Court to TREAT THE EQUIPMENT AND FACILITY PROPERLY! June 27, 28 and 29th - Playground Centralized Training Course. : LADIES GOLF CLUB ANNUAL MEETING - The Aguasabon Golf Club Ladies section annual meeting was held last Tuesday following a four hole get acquainted twilight which was very enjoyable for old and new members. _ These twilights will be held every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Those ladies who can not get out Tuesday evenings may enter at the club house and play on Tuesday afternoon leaving their tested score cards at the Club house for the twilight. Further informa- tion may be received from Tournament Chairman, Peg Wellings or Julie Rattray. . The ladies section membership fee should be paid to membership chairman, Marg Phillips. This fee must be paid to participate in the ladies tournaments . Those ladies wishing to participate in the eighteen hole Canadian Ladies Golf Association Pin Rounds should pay their fee to Betty Luke. A sheet is posted at the club house for the Thursday evening mixed two ball four some entries . Walk-a-thon - cont'd from page 14 Everyone of the twenty-eight got to Schreiber and | twenty-three of them made it back to Terrace Bay. It is difficult to estimate how much was raised by the walk-a-thon because the money has only begun to come in. If all pledges are honored, the Grade 8 pupils will be very close to realizing their goal of a five-day excursion to Winnipeg next month. All those who did pledge money are request- ed to pay the walkers as soon as possible. The final day for turning in money is Wednesday, May 27th so please help the walkers to get their money in on time. Among the top money-makers were Albert Cadieux Jr., Brenda Richards, Gary Speck, Don Kostiuk, Paul Gerlach, Kelly Helmink, Brady Burns, Mary Lynn O'Brien, Mona Caron and Paul Malashewski , Jr. All of these people have over $17.00 in pledges The highest per-mile walker was Mrs. C.
