Once the snow disappears, an amazing accumu- lation of litter and debris makes itself apparent all over town. It won't be long before the annual influx of tou- rists start streaming through our town but let's not wait until they're here before we see that our town is as spic and span and lovely as it can be. Township Council have areas which they may have arranged for a "face lifting, "but its up to the rest of us to see that Terrace Bay lives Up to its reputation as being "The Gem of the North Shore". If you see or know of any vandalism or defacing of ;ublic buildings don't shrug it off. Let one of your councillors know + about it. Speaking of Council reminds us that we will have: an election this December. Seem a long way off? The way the months fly by it really isn't. We have it on good authority that a member of the distaff side is seriously considering running for council and that at least two of the Present council will again let their names stand. Are you interested in running? If so let us know. It isn't too early to start promoting yourself . Besides the satisfaction you 'd get out of serving your fellow citizens, there is q limited monetary consideration. The Reeve gets $1200 and Councillors pete each get $600. per annum, plus travelling ex- penses. ee ¢ LADIES AUXILIARY et nlahalcateeltain dS The evening group of the Ladies Auxiliary met at 745, with Mrs. M, Chisholm, President, welcoming the ladies.
