TERRACE BAY NEWS Go Get 'Em "N Grow Most of our members know their Credit Union is something worthwhile. Within our own organiza- tion we can get the very best in saving and borrow- ing services. Unbiased consumer advice is also available, and of course. there's the unequalled insurance protection. All of these services add up to something great. With all of these fine financial advantages, it's hard to understand why some of the eligible non- members haven't joined yet. Do you friends a favour. Explain the Credit Union and how it works. Invite them to join. Don't forget, word of mouth is still acknowledged to be the best form of adver- tising. Your personal endorsement may be all that's needed. She also expressed the League's appreciation to Father A. Gvora, the Spiritual Director for the League, for his counselling ond patience during the past year. The Diocesan convention is to be held on May 11, 12 and 13th in St. Theres's Church, Kakabeka Falls. The executive and standing committees gave their annual reports. The highlight of the League's past year is the education of a student priest in Kandy, Ceylon. Those elected to office for the 1970-1971 term were President: Mrs. George Dashkewytch; Ist Vice president, Mrs. George Ramsay; 2nd Vice president Mrs. Len Pineault; 3rd Vice president, Mrs. Ben Lapenskie, Secretary, Mrs. L. McBride; Treasurer, -- Mrs. Al Regis. Father Gvora installed the officers -- and gave his blessings. Father Gvora then presented the gavel to the new president, Mrs. Dashkewytch and wished her ~ success in the forthcoming term. Mrs. Dashkewytch -- accepted the gavel, with a few words of thanks. She said she felt it was a responsibility and honour, and she promised to do her best for God ang Canada. The meeting closed with League Prayers and singing of "Holy God We Praise Thy Name." Lunch was served by M. Santerre and her committee. GOLF NEWS Very soon now we expect to announce the opening of the Golf Course for play. In the mean- | time, however, we would urge all citizens to stay off the greens and fairways. They are very spongy | at this time of year and playing golf will not be permitted. Suc' things as running carts over the fairways or taking divots leave permanent damage so we ask your co-operation in restraining your- selves until it is officially announced that the course is ready for play.
