DA A RR A am SCHREIBER LEGION HOSTS ZONE MEETING A zone meeting of Royal Canadian Legion branche of Manitouwadge, Marathon, Terrace Bay and Schreiber was hosted by the latter branch on Satur- day afternoon. At the close of the meeting supper was served to the delegates by Schreiber ladies' auxiliary. The hours will be 3 - 5:30 p.m. ¢ Mrs. Jean Fisher was appointed representative to attend the annual Rebekah Assembly, held in Toronto J ~ in June, with Mrs. Mavis Slater as alternate. Mrs. Norma Fummerton was named as Scholar to attend the Assembly. After the meeting a card party was enjoyed with whist winners being Mrs. Victoria Winters, high; Mrs. Winnie Clemens, low; Mrs. Shirley Brown, high, in Bridge; Mrs . Teresa Stortini, low. A dessert lunch was served by Mrs. Gladys Hamilton's committee. a que i shia nen CANCER SOCIETY OFFICERS ELECTED Mrs. Leo Godin accepted the chairmanship of the Cancer Society campaign at a regular meeting held in the home of Mrs. Jack Stokes. The campaign was set for April 24th. Officers for the year elected were - Mrs. Joe Campbell, president; Mrs. Oscar Niemi, secretary; Mrs. Russell Macadam, treasurer; Mrs. Karl Kazmier-| -- czak and Mrs. Stokes, publicity; Mrs. Jack Rummery - service to patients. Mrs. Kazmierczak reported the film "Assignment" has been shown in the elementary schools. In Memoriam cards, used in lieu of flowers, may be obtained from any of the officers and a receipt for income tax purposes is given. COME AND GO SHOWER A come and go shower-tea in honour of Bride- a Elect, Miss Brenda Duncan will be held on April ; 4th, Saturday, from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. in the Anglican Church Basement.
