DISCUSSES PROJECTS A meeting of the Local Association of Girl Guide and Brownies was held on Monday evening in St. Martin's Parish Hall. An excellent turn-out of twenty-two members was welcomed by Mrs. $.Caron District Commissioner . Registration Convenor, Mrs.| -Kettle, reported that she is once again accepting the names of children who will be seven years old this Spring and are interested in joining Brownies. Cookie Day plans were discussed and Convenor | Mrs .J.Desrosiers reported that the cookies have bee ordered and the date will be decided before next meeting. The annual meeting this year is-to be held on March 14th in Thunder Bay. All members are in- vited to attend. Plans were finalized for the Easter Bake Sale _ which will be held on March 28th'. Tentative plans for the Banquet were discussed and it was agreed to | have a combined Guide and Brownie, Mother and Daughter Banquet, date to be announced later. It was decided to lend financial assistance to the newly formed Ist Land Ranger Company to assist them in their projects. . The next meeting will be held on March 30th and all mothers and interested Persons are urged to attend. YOUR LOCAL ASSOCIATION NEEDS YOU!! LIBRARY NEWS In conjunction with the Librarian's course Tuesday, March 3rd, An Audio-Visual Workshop was held and opened to the public from 3 - 10 p.m. A group of some seventy people compris ed of Librarians, teachers, clergy, recreation and other interested groups filled the parish centre to capacity in Schreiber to hear of "Modern Trends and Operation in Audio-Visual Equipment, " Two representatives from the Northwestern Regional Library System. Peggy Hunt and Tony Farthing very capably handled an informative and interesting sess- ion followed by films and question and answer period. Films are available from the Northwestern Regional Library for special groups, organized groups, clubs or for any individual providing he has access to a 16 mm projector. Films are booked at the Library (at no cost to borrower) and must be returned to the Regional Library by post as soon as it has been shown. Return postage is included with film.
