BRIDAL SHOWER HONORS MISS SHIRLEY DAVIES The knitting club of which Mrs. Jean Roberts is a member, were joint hostesses at a proxy briday show- er, in-honour of Shirley Davies, held at the home of Mrs. B. Lohr. : Shirley is the financee of David Roberts, and since she resides in Dryden, and could not be present at the shower, the guests brought their gifts unwrapped and pre- sented them to Mrs. Roberts, after | which they were passed around, then returned to the donors, to be wrapped and sent on to Shirley. Mrs. Roberts, representing the bride, sat in a gaily decorated chair, anda white wedding bell hung over the dining room table, from which a del- icious lunch was served. Boutilier, Brown Owl, opened the proceed- ings by welcoming the parents biel guests, and briefly explained the Brownie program and what it means to be a Brownie. Guest of honour for the evening was Mrs. S. Caron, District Commissioner, who presented the new Brown-- ies with their pins and emblems. Each Brownie was al so presented with a lei and a flower for her mae in keeping with the Hawaiian theme. Tweenies welcomed into the pack were Denyse Desrosiers, Gilda Pederson, Suzan Helmink, Diane Briscoe, Susan Roberts, Cathy Churney, and Tracy Stachiw. During the evening, seven Brownies received their Golden Bars. They were Delena Almos, Cheryl Moore, Karen Nesbitt, Leslie McBride, Joan Heibert, Rosalie Reid and Lise Cormier.
