MARTIN'S TO FORM PARISH COUNCIL Parishioners of St. Martin's Church, Terrace Bay, met to discuss the formation of a Parish Council in Terrace Bay. Various types of Parish Councils were presented for consideration by Mr. Mike Anderson. Prior to the discussion, a workshop was established, where small groups were formed to talk over pertinent aspects of a Parish Council. These groups met again and presented the consensus of opinion to the generat body. Mr. Anderson, using a projector, showed different structures of councils for possible consideration. It was agreed, unanimously, that a steering comm- ittee should be set up, to study in depth. what was most adaptable for St. Martin's. One of their duties would be to draft a constitution, acceptable to the people of St. Martin's and to look into the needs of the parish. Members elected to this committee were: Miss Lorraine Belliveau, Mrs. Fern McDonald, Mr. Hugh Boudreau, Mr. Mike Anderson and Father Gvora. As soon as this is drafted . another meeting will be called to discuss the constitution, and hopefully, to accept it. Lunch was served at the close of the meeting.
