ROSSPORT CURLING CLUB READY FOR COMING SEASON enn nacelle tame eae The executive and draw com- mittee of Rossport Curling Club met Sunday to draw the teams and prepare the schedule for the round robin of games for | competition for the champion- ship and cup. The following teams are com- peting this year. The schedule is to be repeated to finish the last of February. 1. Chas. Todesco, skip; Edith Spillett, vice; Brian Ray, sec- ond; and Shirley Bouchard; lead. 2. Camilla Legault, Peter Mushqush, Gwen Gerow and Raymond Goodchild. ee: 3. In the finals for club cham- Pionship players must all be present for games to be eligible for the cup. 2. Players must notify their skip in plenty of time to obtain a spare if they aren't able to play a game. 3. Skips must take turns to have the heating system in op- eration before each game. 4. If a player is required to fill in a team, a member of the spare paid up members is to be chosen. The spare must be of equivalent position of the missing team member. If a spare skip is used, he must play lead. 5. Players are requested to keep the wood box full and co- operate in keeping the club house clean. 6. If a spare is not available to fill in, a player may be ¢hos- en from one of the teams com- peting providing he is of posi- tion of the missing player. Ronald Lanigan has left to holiday at his parental home at Ottawa. Very Rev. Dean J. Cano said mass in Rossport Monday. The choir sang folk hymns accom- panied by Mrs. Jack Campbell on guitar. Douglas Ray of Gurney is vis- iting Alfred Ray this week. The teacher Mrs. Price and her pupils held a skating party at the Sand Bar Friday afternoon from three to five o'clock. This was followed by hot dogs hot chocolate and pastries served at the school. Games and contests were enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Chas W. Todesco motored to the Lakehead Monday on business. Alex Zwaresh has returned from a holiday spent in Toronto and New York. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Minoletti returned to Port Arthur, after visiting with the Peter Testori family the past week. Mrs. Herb Lif has arrived home after holidaying with relatives at Red Lake and Thunder Roy ie Mr. and Mrs. Pat Auger of Longlac spent the week end here. Mrs. Nanette Moses has returned from Nipigon Hospital . The Rossport Altar Society of St. Berchman's Church has a penny Auction scheduled for Sunday, February Ist at 8 p.m. at the community hall. Lunch will be served. During the last cold spell and calm weather Rossport Bay froze over to Vein Island (now Salter Island).
