Last Friday, January 23rd, the district public speaking -- contest was held in the j Schreiber High School gymna torium. This competition wat open to students from Gerald: ton, Nip-Rock and Schreiber High Schools. Janet Crook placed first -- | in the Impromptu Secion and Ted Ross was first in the | Prepared Speeches. Both these students will compete i the Zone Finals to be held February 23rd at Hammarskje High School in Thunder Bay On behalf of the local © Hydro Commission, Mr. J. ~ Phillips presneted prizes to ~ the winners, and also to the _ runners up: John Souliere, Schreiber, and Gerry Leinonen, Nip-Rock.
