COURSE PLANNED FOR LIBRARLAN Tont Farthing of the Regional Library staff was in Schreiber recently to confer with and ad- -vise the public library board on matters of administration and other problems. Mrs. Hill reported a drop in borrowing during September possibly due to the change in population. The rating has gone up again. She also remarked on the big upswing in the use of the library , by public school students. One class, brought by Miss Clemens, after being instructed by Mrs. Hill, is now quite competent in _ finding its own books for re, search, Mrs. Gwen Hadley read min- utes and correspondence. TO CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY IN SCOTLAND Jeanie Crook is being given an unusal, and most appreciated gift by her husband Jim who is taking her to Plean, Sterlingshire, Scotland, to mark their 25th wedding anniversary, on November 15th, leaving Schreiber on November 12th. The Crooks were married in the parish Presbyter- ian Church in Plean, Jeanie's birthplace, and by good fortune their bridesmaid, Agnes Stevenson TERRACE BAY NEWS NOVEMBER 13, 1969 Citizen's Rink -Committee The Newly Formed Citizen's Rink Committee of Schreiber wish to advise the people of Schreiber of the fall regulations prices for Public Skating is as follows: - Adults 50¢; Students 35¢; and Children 25¢. Public skating season tickets are available for any person who wish to purchase'them at a fee of $25. for the 1969-70 season. This includes whole families. We sincerely hope that the children will keep up to the good behavior for the rest of the season as they have during the first weeks the arena was in operation. It is to their own benifit to do so. We would like to point out to the various groups who are on the by monthly payment system that promt payment of accounts will be greatly appreciated as this makes for better management and better service to all concerned. Schreiber Citizen's Rink Committee, Samuel P. Newton, Secretary-Treasurer . (now Mrs. Duncan Ferguson) and their best man, Thomas McArthur, will be there for the happy occasion along with many others of the wedding party. Both groom and best man were in uniform for the wedding, Jim having been one of the first to enlist in the Royal Electric Mechanical Engineers, British Ord. Corps. Jim's relations, all railroaders, felt they had lost face when he elected to enter police work, spending 12 years in it before coming to Canada in 1957, but when he wrote home saying that on his first day Montreal he had had secured employ- ment with the C.P.R. Police Force, the family were jubilant, feeling that he returned to the fold. Jeanie and Jim have made many friends since coming to Schreiber in November of 1966, and be- come actively interested in town affairs, their first concern with United Church work.
